B-BOVID believes in Climate-Smart/Climate
friendly agriculture hence we are constantly
engaging farmers and stakeholders using various
medium through our NGO partner, TRACTOR, on ways
to reduce the impact of climate change.
Environmental degradation and climate change
threaten agriculture, food security, and poverty
reduction. Protecting the environment promotes
human wellbeing and reduces the effects of
climate change. B-BOVID/TRACTOR get
farmers and communities informed about the
effects of climate change and get them involved
in combating it.
communities in environmental conservation, and
promote sustainable and biodiversity agriculture
as a solution to land degradation. The
organization is helping to facilitate
understanding around climate change and empower
individuals to help reduce its impacts.
Agroforestry is a traditional practice of
integrating trees with crops and/or animals to
contribute to food security, economic
development as well as mitigating climate change
in which tree planting and mangrove enrichment
serves as a major carbon sink/sequestrate.
TRACTOR has established an agroforestry
demonstration site on 450 acre plot at Angu to
serve educational and training purposes. This
demonstration site is unique and first of its
kind in the country. The site features different
species of trees, eco-garden, bee-keeping, dams,
fruits, vegetables and other food crops which
are organic driven. It is important to
acknowledge that the three dams and species of
tree which fringes the demonstration site
encourage biodiversity conservation, a globally
accepted standard for biodiversity conservation.
